Project Manager – Senior

Company Overview:
We are recruiting for a reputable main contractor with a strong presence in Nelson and a proud history of delivering high-quality construction projects. As a leader in the industry, they are seeking a talented Senior Project Manager to join their team and lead the successful delivery of key projects in the region.
  
Position Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects in Nelson. From initial conception to final handover, you will lead project teams, manage resources, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven experience managing construction projects, preferably in a main contractor role.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge of New Zealand construction regulations and standards.
