This is a career defining opportunity for a motivated, Body Corporate Lawyer to join this established and highly reputable, property and commercial law firm. This firm has backed a number of ambitious lawyers all the way to ownership within an impressive timeframe (some only 18 months) and now, they are looking to replicate this again for their next hire.

As a well regarded, industry leader in property and commercial law the firm have a solid range of clients from companies, government entities, small businesses and individuals. They have been around for a number of years and are now in their new phase of promoting their next breed of Directors.

THE ROLE
Working closely with two of the Directors of the Property Team, your clients will include developers, unit owners, body corporates, body corporate managers, onsite managers, and letting agents. Typically your role will focus on some of the following:
- attending industry events and networking with warm clients
- establishment, sale, and transfer of management rights.
- preparation of various body corporate contracts and agreements (including service contracts, marina berth leases, and caretaking and letting agreements)
- by-laws, including the enforceability and implementation of by-laws
- provisions of the body corporate legislation including the responsibilities and powers of bodies corporate and committees.
- establishment of community title schemes for residential, commercial, and industrial projects (from small complexes to large complicated layered, staged, or mixed residential and commercial arrangements).
- restructuring community title schemes, including changing the future development inside or outside of the scheme and dissolving community title schemes.
- removal or addition of lots or common property to a community titles scheme.
- preparation of master contracts (including “off the plan” contracts) for strata title developments.
- preparation of first and new community management statements.
WHATS REQUIRED
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years PAE experience within Body Corporate/Management Rights. The firm are very committed to growing this offering and as such, they will also entertain conversations with candidates who are quite senior and who might be looking to make Directorship in the next 12-24 months that might have established relationships with referrers and clients within this space.
