The Company
This highly regarded consultancy is on the hunt for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team and provide high quality structural engineering expertise to their clients.

The Role
Your role as Senior Structural Engineer will be to undertake the scoping, design, construction observation and management of structural engineering projects including residential, commercial, seismic buildings around 3-4 storeys.
- You will manage the design, analysis and construction of structural engineering projects
- Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment and achieve successful project outcomes (time, cost and quality).
- Responsible for the project lifecycle, you will scope, organise and monitor progress, seeing them through to their successful completion, actively looking for innovation and improvement opportunities.
- Creating high quality project plans, obtaining stakeholder input, procurement of design and construction resources and undertaking comprehensive and timely reporting to management and clients
- Lead, direct and mentor the work of the Structural Engineering project team.
- Liaise with clients, staff, contractors and sub consultants on projects to ensure these are delivered on time to budget and meet quality standards.
- Manages the client’s expectations through regular reporting and feedback to clients and internal managers on progress, costs, risks and expected completion dates of tasks.
About You
- You MUST have at least 7+ years structural engineering experience in New Zealand (seismic experience)
- CPEng preferrable but not required – at least well underway to gaining CPEng
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong people management and relationship building skills
- Requires a related qualification and familiar with structural software (ETABS)
- Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on relevant experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Can assist with business development of new and existing clients to develop and maintain relationships.
