The Firm
For over a century, this firm has been proudly helping clients realise their full potential.  Operating nationally, the firm has grown and evolved to the point where it is considered the firm for clients who seek the highest quality legal advice, delivered with a straight-talking, no-nonsense approach.

This firm pride themselves on developing clients relationships for the long haul.  They ask the difficult questions and take calculated, but highly commercial risks.

Having recruited extensively in the firm’s Brisbane office over a number of years, I have personally witnessed some wonderful growth and success stories. Due to this past success, the firm is now seeking to expand its Sydney leadership team along similar lines.

Who is this suited to?
Fundamentally, the firm is motivated to have conversations with senior commercial/ECM lawyers who looking to grow a practice and focus on building a strong presence for their Sydney office.  Consideration will be given to candidates ranging from a top end Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partnership Level.  The firm will also welcome entire team moves and are open to acquisition opportunities from boutique commercial law firms.

Candidates may currently face a variety of scenarios including:

  • Having grown tired of the grind in a top tier firm
  • Disenchanted with other large/mid-tier firms that have over-promised and seemingly mythical rewards/promotions
  • Feeling restricted in terms of a growth strategy in your own firm, (or at a crossroads, distracted by practice management and back office administration) as a solo or boutique practitioner.

In order for a commercial discussion for Partnership, it is expected that you will firstly demonstrate a viable network of clients/referrers with an established business development ability.  Transferrable fee bases of around $600k-$700k is required for consideration of immediate Partnership at the firm.  For candidates below this figure, the firm are still welcoming high level conversations where they will provide a clear and achievable path to partnership.

Whats on offer?
The successful candidates will benefit from the knowledge of experienced partners (both locally and nationally) as well as an attractive rem model and benefits package expected from a firm of this calibre.

These exciting leadership roles will also allow you to build a successful and sustainable career path in a progressive, stimulating and commercially minded firm. Cross Pollination from other teams and practitioners is both enjoyed and very much encouraged.  There is no “eat what you kill” mentality here.

Additionally, the firm have a large number of success stories regarding female practitioners who have been overlooked and held back elsewhere.  They offer a high degree of flexibility to work from home as and when required (including the technology and full backing) to manage your workload as you see fit.
